Badosa won the match 6-7 (1), 6-1, 6-4 over Osaka. The Japanese superstar was upset after the defeat.
“As time goes on, I feel I should do better,” she said. “But also – I talked kind of about this before, maybe a few years ago, or maybe recently, I’m not sure – I hate disappointing people.”
She also expressed a sense of regret for returning her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, who previously worked with them as Serena Williams.
“He goes from working with, like the biggest player ever to, like ‘what f — is this?’ Do you know what I mean? ”She said. “Sorry for curse. I hope I don’t get a fine.”

Osaka also treated blems on her hands as she cut her nails. She theorized that it was clay courts that gave her the question.
“Since Rome, I’ve had blemishes on my hands,” she said via tennis.com. “I think it’s like the friction of clay because I haven’t blemming on any other surface. But I was kind of used to it because I also had to ask for physio in Rome.”
Osaka was a former world # 1 when she dominated the 2018 US Open and won the 2019 Australian Open right after. She did it again in 2020 when she won the US Open and followed up with a victory of 2021 Australian Open.
It is the French Open and Wimbledon who have always caused Osaka problems.
She has never reached it out of the third round at the French Open.

Osaka did not commit one way or the other to the grinding leading up to Wimbledon.
“I don’t necessarily know my grass season plan right now,” Osaka said. “I didn’t really expect to lose in the first round.”
