- More Pixel Watch 4 information is leaked
- We can see new sensors and charge contacts
- The laptop is to be launched on August 20
Pixel Watch 4 will almost certainly be revealed next to the Pixel 10 series and Pixel Bud 2A on Wednesday, August 20 – though Google has only confirmed the date, not what’s being launched – and a new leak gives us more information about the laptop.
Photos sent to Reddit (via 9to5Google) show what appears to be official marketing images for Pixel Watch 4, detailed features such as improved durability, battery life and activity tracking accuracy – with the permission of a “Gen 3 Sensor Hub”.
It would be an upgrade of the sensors we saw with Google Pixel Watch 3, and should mean better precision in readings as a heartbeat – even though we don’t know for sure until we’ve actually had an opportunity to try it.
We also get another look at the rather unusual side charging system that appeared in a previous leak, with charging contacts placed on the side of the clock: It seems that this is how you can charge the Pixel Watch 4.
‘Technological progress’
There is plenty of positive formulation in these marketing material that you would expect. The clock apparently brings “significant technological advances” to its predecessor along with a “premium designed design”.
The life of the battery is listed as reaching 30 hours between taxes, which is said to be a 25% boost over the current model. Better battery life was already mentioned in previous leaks, so we are hopeful in that department.
There are also mentioned the two expected watch sizes, 41 mm and 42 mm, while Gemini integration is mentioned, as well as “double frequency” GPS – which suggests that the laptop will be more accurate and faster in reporting its location.
Along with the rest of the leaked information that has also emerged in recent days, it looks like Pixel Watch 4 could be an appealing view when it’s finally confirmed – and maybe worth a place on our best smartwatches list.
