Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was fully informed by the Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir after the latter recent high -profile meeting with US President Donald Trump in the White House, a senior source confirmed Friday.
According to the informed source, the subsequent telephone call from US State Secretary Marco Rubio to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was also a continuation of the Washington engagement.
The source claimed that all developments, from the planning of the Trump-Munir meeting to its content and follow-up diplomacy, were coordinated with Prime Minister Shehbaz and executed in accordance with mutual political decisions.
“Although some quarters spread disinformation to create distrust, the reality is that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir are in close and regular contact,” the source said, adding that civil and military leadership remains united in both strategy and execution.
The high level of coordination between political and military leadership is not new.
