New York Comic Con has been and gone for another year. Although NYCC is not as huge as its San Diego counterpart, NYCC is still a very important event on the Pop Culture Convention Calendar, and 2025 was not missing in messages.
As you would probably expect from any event with the word ‘cartoon’ in its title, Marvel’s TV and animation departments had plenty of news to share in New York, but we also got our first look at a whole new Game of Thrones Spinoff, a release date for Invincible Season 4 and a trailer for a new sci-fi-thriller starring Chris Pratt.
There was a lot to sink your teeth in, but I have chosen nine NYCC 2025 messages that stood out in particular.
A knight of the seven kingdoms of kingdoms in our screens in January
HBO’s latest Game of Thrones Spinoff arrives early next year on January 18. An adaptation of George RR Martin’s short story Hedge KnightAt A knight of the seven kingdoms taking place a whole century before Game of ThronesAnd tells the story of two definitely unattractive heroes: seeing Duncan the High (Peter Claffey) and his young Squire simply known as eggs (Dexter Sol).
Martin even sat on a panel on NYCC that also contained A knight of the seven kingdoms‘Showrunner IRA Parker and its two main stars. A more grounded takeover of walking on Westeros was immediately clear from the trailer. Dunk is a Lowborn Hedge Knight with no claim of any thrones or any screen filling on Hans Beck and Call. He seems to be an instant sympathetic protagonist who is not too proud to take life advice from a child (although anyone who is familiar with Martin’s literature will know that eggs are not just a child). The chemistry between dunk and eggs looks like it will be the heart of a show that is less interested in the usual political backstabbing and familial tossing for power than it shows us how the other half lives in Martin’s imagination.
We also got a good look at some of the jousing sequences that will be a big part of A knight of the seven kingdoms. It can be a very different show to Game of Thrones and Dragon HouseBut apparently it is not short of action.
Invincible returns in March and introduces an iconic villain from the comics
Invincible Season 3 Was Prime Videos Most Set Season of an Animated Show Ever, so confirmation that Season 4 will arrive in March 2026 was big news on NYCC 2025. The trailer sees Mark and Eva sitting in what’s left of a burnt out burger restaurant after the events of the third season, titled Superhero only to glad to remind the viewers of all the inter-dimensional world-based that he should do last of episodes.
The Big Season 4 ā News coming out of New York Comic Con, it’s Lee Pace (FoundationAt Guardians of the Galaxy) joins The Voice Cast Grand Regent Thragg, one of the biggest and most scary villains from the cartoon on which the show is based. Thragg is a merciless and cruel leader of Viltrum Empire, who presumably does not take good to Mark’s ongoing mission to protect the earth from being wiped out by Wildtrumites.
Cross season 2 looks even more tense than the first season
Prime Video’s Crime Thriller Series, CrossDebuted almost a year ago in November 2024, and fans will only have to wait a few months until Season 2 arriving on February 11. The eight-episode second season plays again Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross, a remarkably gifted forensic psychologist and murder detective who is a unique capable of penetrating the mind of the murderers he is pursuing in order to catch them. The show is based on James Patterson’s Alex Cross Book series and the first season did a good job of producing the criminal underworld the titular DC is to navigate.
Season 2 sees cross chasing down a vigilance that has turned off corrupt billionaire magnets and adds his role crew Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason and Wes Chatham.

90s children with good childhood memories of seeing X-Men: The animated series While they crushed away on their overly sugary grain, naturally were very excited for last year’s revival. But few would have dared to hope that X-Men ’97 Would be as good as it ended up being. While honoring the original series’ Look and Vibrance, with many of the voice purchasing returning decades later to surprise their roles, X-Men ’97 Went beyond simple nostalgia and gave us some of the most memorable mutant actions on screen to date.
Unfortunately, Marvel has not yet been officially released season two trailer (which doesn’t mean you can’t find it if you are looking), but we know it is coming in the middle of 2026 and will pick up after the dramatic events of season 1’s final that saw the X-Men spread over time and apocalypse was teased as the big bad. Bishop seems to have appointed himself the person who will reunite our favorite mutants and bring them all back safely to the 90s. There is no fixed release date for this yet, but with Season 3 already confirmed, animated X-Men fans will eat well for a long time.
Daredevil: Born again Season 2 brings back an old favorite

Netflix and Disney+ are set to collide again in Daredevil: Born again Season 2 that will reintroduce fan favorite crystal Ritter’s Jessica Jones. The Sardonian leather jacket-emerged PI played an important role in Netflix’s wider Marvel Universe as well as starring in three seasons of her own show, and Ritter surprisingly drew some of the biggest cheering this weekend when she performed on stage on NyCC’s Marvel panel with Charlie Cox.
Marvel has not yet released Season 2 teaser, but you can be pretty sure that Jessica Jones will play an important role in helping her old acquaintance Matt Murdock (COX) dealing with Wilson Fisk (Vincent d’Onofrio), who was as quietly scary as ever in Season 1 as he launched his new political career.
Marvel’s Wonder Man Charms in its first full trailer
A trailer Marvel has officially released since the reveal on NYCC is the first look at the upcoming Wonder man Miniseries, which premieres on January 27. It plays Yahya Abdul-Mate II and Ben Kingsley as Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery, a couple of fighting actors trying to land roles in a remake of the movie Wonder man.
Set in a Hollywood fighting with superhero movie fatigue (it turns out Deadpool & Wolverine was actually not the most meta marvel is willing to come with its properties), Wonder man Looks like a windy comedy in the workplace that may be MCU’s response to Apple TV’s The studyAlthough cartoon fans are already theorizing of how its latest characters will inevitably bind into the wider universe in the future.

Visionquest wraps a strong TV trilogy in 2026
Vision returns. Paul Bettany teases Marvel Televisions #Visionquest, who comes to @disneyplus in 2026. #Nycc pic.twitter.com/wfstbp2ofjOctober 11, 2025
The small screen trilogy that started in 2021 with Wandavision and continued in last year’s Halloween-flavored Agatha all the time will quit in 2026 with Visionquest. Paul Bettany repeats his role as vision, without a doubt one of the most iconic cartoon characters over time, which were reanimated in Wandavision After his memorable death in Avengers: Infinity War.
Vision is now white vision, as shown in a teaser that is still exclusive to NYCC participants at the time of writing. But we learned a lot about the role crew for the upcoming show that plays Henry Lewis as Dum-E, Jonathan Sayer as U, James d’Arcy as Jarvis, Orla Brady as Friday, and Emily Hampshire as Edith The biggest announcement was that James Spader returns as Ultron, after first playing the character for a whole decision since Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy gives us more Paul Giamatti which is always a good thing
Star Trek goes to school in Star Trek: Starfleet Academyan uncharacterist YA-focused trip to the sustained sci-fi franchise, which will premiere on January 15. The Paramount+ show is set in the 32nd century and focuses on a brand new class of cadets that sign up for Starfleet Academy.
NYCC trailer gave us a good look at the role crew that plays Holly Hunter as Chancellor Nahla Ake and Paul Giamatti like Nus Braka who will be Star Trek: Starfleet Academy‘s big bad. That alone should sell you on it. Shared Trekkie Stephen Colbert also revealed that he has borrowed his voice for the show as the digital dean of students at the legendary school.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Propagated to be something a little different for Star Trek, and possibly a spectacle for a new younger audience. We’ll see how it all pans out in the new year.
Mercy gives us Chris Pratt who makes his own stunts and Rebecca Ferguson as a creepy AI judge
It wouldn’t be Comic Con without a Chris Pratt look. He was in town to advertise his latest starring role is in Amazon’s sci-fi-thriller Mercywhere Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World Star plays Chris Raven, a detective in trial to murder his wife. He has only 90 minutes to prove his innocence through an AI Court system he helped create, with a judge named Maddox (Rebecca Ferguson) who decided his fate.
When the clock is ticking away, the LAPD detective has to find out what actually happened to his wife (Annabell Wallis), and the movie will apparently pack its tight runtime with lots of tense action sequences, with stuntwork, which reportedly saw the poor old Chris Pratt’s ankle take a little kick during the filming. We find out if it was worth all the ice packs when Mercy released on January 23rd.
