- Fujifilm reveals Instax Mini Loplay+, six years after the original model
- The addition of a selfie -camera is the most important hardware upgrade
- It is available from October 30 in two colors with matching cases
Fujifilm has revealed a successor to the Instax Mini Loplay, about six years after the original Hybrid Instant Camera – and it’s called Mini Loplay+.
The new hybrid model preserves a similar design with a rear LCD to compose images and the ability to produce the Instax Mini prints. But it comes with a significant hardware upgrade and the ability to add audio clips to images through the Instax Mini Loplay+ app.
Mini Loplay+ packages double cameras and adds a selfie camera where the original model just has the front-facing camera. In addition to making selfies much easier to create, these twin cameras will loosen a new layered photo mode that combines the front and rear camera images, with two Instax color profiles to choose from.
And if you have the new app, there are four ways to record short audio clips to be added to images to multisensory albums.
There are two color versions of Mini Loplay+ to choose from; Midnight blue and sand beige. They are available from October 30 with a list price of £ 189.99 (which converts to about $ 250 / AU $ 390), while a matching case costs an extra £ 29.99.
A new ‘Soft Glitter’ Instax Mini movie is also debuted and will be available on the same day as Mini Loplay+, which costs £ 8.99 for a single package of 10. I will update this page with us and Australia Pricing when I get that info.
Instax to the smartphone -generation
Supported by auto exposure, flash and a self -timer, the Hybrid Mini Loplay+ should be as simple as instant cameras, although it lacks the analog charm of real instant cameras, like the wildly fun and creative Mini 99.
No, Mini Loplay+ is for the smartphone generation, for which the accompanying app is as much part of the experience as getting these immediate pressure.
There are perks for hybrid instant cameras, such as fewer wasted pressure. However, they are not into analogue purists who cherish the unpredictable nature of immediate photography.
I have currently got my hands-on mini Loplay+ and will soon share a review. But what are your first impressions? Do you like the sound of a hybrid instant camera like Mini Loplay+, or do you prefer Old School Instax cameras? Tell me that in the comments below!
