GameFi-tokens show signs of life after gallas games, clo-up in the white house

Gaming -tokens has apparently been on the sidelines since the 2021 Crypto Boom. In fact, data from Sosovalue shows that they were the worst priesting crypto basket during the last 12-month period, which lasted a decrease of 62% in the period compared to an increase of 174% on Payfi-tokens.

However, under the cryptic attitude of the Trump administration, that may change.

Gala Games-a blockchain-based game platform was said, it became the first crypto game company to work with the White House, which brought a web3 game Easter egg hunt for the 2025 Easter Egg Roll. Official XS account in the White House also mentioned on the social media platform about the bonding in the midst of an abundance of other collaborations with tech giants.

The Gala token has risen approx. 18%since the message, Gamefi -Tokens rose 13%, and the wider crypto market, measured by Coindesk 20 (CD20) index, increased 8%.

User engagement

The effort was intended to introduce blockchain to families without overwhelming them.

The game, which hosted Easter.gala.games, offered a “free and simple” experience where players collected virtual eggs to win unique non-funny symbols (NFTs) stored on Galachain, Gala’s proprietary layer 1 blockchain, the company said in a message shared with Coindesk.

Players were able to log in, explore and collect eggs without needing a crypto -design book experience, Gala Games said. Each NFT reward was stored on Galachain, which suggested future use across Gala’s entertainment projects, including gala music and gala films.

The Web3 gaming company told Coindesk that over 300,000 games have been played since the event was launched, with about 100,000 new accounts created. About 17% of participants continued to explore Gala’s other projects and actually suggested user engagement beyond the Easter event.

The project, founded in 2019 by Zynga co-founder Eric Schiermeyer, has laid the basis for broader adoption through partnerships with DreamWorks Animation, NBCuniversal and collaboration with artists such as Snoop Dogg. Earlier this month, Gala Film announced a partnership with LG Electronics to bring Web3 Entertainment to TVS, and the company suggested it is working with a government agency on transparency efforts.

The reaction of the industry

The Easter Split marks a real test for the project and the wider GameFi sector.

When asked about the construction of the event, Schiermeyer shared that the project has focused on a high -level binding. “We have a team dedicated to government stays,” they said. “I also spent time at Mar-A-Lago and talked to the president. But mainly we wanted to help make the event more fun and I think the mood was well received.”

Industry’s reactions were mixed. Some praised visibility, while others pointed out that more work is needed for the mass absorption of the Gamefi industry.

Jack O’Holleran, CEO of Skalse Labs, told Coindesk that Gamefi has never stopped expanding, but its questions have been visibility instead. The technology on top of it has matured. “In the past, you had to control your own crypto cartoons and pay high gas fees just to play,” he said. “Now gas -free blockchains and trouble -free onboarding are removing these barriers.”

“Functional values and utility that blockchain brings to games cannot be suppressed much longer,” he added.

Still, a broader adoption of the GameFi sector will require further meaningful cooperation with mainstream game outlets. This could potentially open the “flooding ports”, O’Holleran added, as player bases for the traditional gaming sector are far beyond the crypto sector’s user counting. In that case, the “flooding gates will be open.”

Meanwhile, Mitja Goroshevsky, co-founder of GOSH, the visibility of the gala games and the Game Fi sector via the white house bonding, but warned that the industry should still resolve its identity crisis.

“It’s caught between gambling and dealing with trade,” he said.

“Until blockchain games introduce basic new experiences, government partnerships alone will not run mass recording.”
