- Garmin’s Vivosmart 6 tracker has just been leaked on several websites
- The leak details the upcoming features expected to come with the device
- It includes GPS tracking for the first time in a Vivosmart tracker
CES 2026 is one of the biggest tech events on next year’s calendar – and a Garmin leak has just revealed what could be one of the company’s biggest announcements at the show, which starts on January 6.
News site Garmin Rumors has spotted references on Garmin’s Indonesian website to an as-yet-unreleased Vivosmart 6 fitness tracker. This would be the successor to the well-received Vivosmart 5 and could come with a number of features that take it up a notch.
In particular, the leak indicates that the Vivosmart series will get built-in GPS tracking for the first time. This would mean you no longer need to rely on your phone’s GPS tracking while doing an outdoor workout, giving you a more convenient way to log and track your routes.
On that note, Garmin Rumors noted a description on the Garmin Indonesia website that read: “[The] Vivosmart 6 is a stylish sports watch that suits both men and women. It is equipped with built-in GPS and more than 30 sports apps. This watch can track activities such as walking, running, cycling, swimming and even activities for wheelchair users, making it an ideal choice for your daily activity tracker.”
With 30 sports that can be tracked, users should have many more options than the 14 possible with the Vivosmart 5.
Additional leaks
In addition to that, a placeholder page for the Vivosmart 6 went live prematurely on Garmin’s Swedish website, further reinforcing the idea that a new wearable is on the way.
And an unknown Garmin device with model number A04986 has been registered with South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency. It used the “Fitness Product” category adopted by previous Vivosmart devices, rather than the “Smart Watch” used by Fenix and Forerunner wearables. Given the timing, CES 2026 seems like a logical place to debut the product.
Garmin may have ventured into new territory with its Index Sleep Monitor and Index S2 Smart Scale in recent years, but its fitness trackers remain a core issue alongside its popular smartwatches – and it looks like we’ll see a new tracker at CES 2026.
While the exact pricing and release date details are unknown, it seems pretty clear that Garmin is almost ready to unveil its latest wearable to the world – and we’ll bring you all the official news when it happens.
