GDA suggests to join the Grand Opp Alliance

When the joint opposition calls his anti-government campaign, the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) Chief Pir Pagara has said his party and Tehreek Tahaffuz-E-Oyeen Pakistan (TTAP) share a common basis for key issues relating to Sindh and Federal government.

He emphasized that maintaining the constitution was crucial to strengthening the country and its institutions.

Similarly, parties associated with TTAP-Grand Anti-Government Alliance-Gda’s position against the construction of six new channels on the Indus River, and called the project a question of national survival and promised to oppose it.

The comments came under a press briefing in Raja House on Saturday after a meeting between TTAP leaders and Pir Pagara-led GDA representatives.

Formerly a TTAP delegation – including Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja, Sardar Latif Khosa, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Nasir Shirazi, Hamid Raza, Sajid Tareen, Akhunzada Hussain and Haleem Adil Sheikh – Met with Gda leaders in Raja House.

The GDA Delegation Compriced Pir Pagara, Syed Sadruddin Shah Rashdi, Dr Safdar Abbasi, Dr Fehmida Mirza, Liaquat Jatoi, Syed Zain Shah, Sardar Abdul Rahim, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, Syed Muhammad Rashid Shah, Irfanullah Marwat, Moazzam ABBASI, SAIRA BANO, BARREST HUSNAN MIRZA AND HUSAM MIRZA.

In a speech with the media, Syed Sadruddin Shah Rashdi expressed gratitude to TTAP leaders for their visits and noted that Pir Pagara recognized their adaptation to questions about Sindh and the Federation.

He said discussions covered the 26th amendment, the Peca Act and the Indus Channel projects, where both sides share common concerns. He emphasized that national security and constitutional supremacy were prerequisites for democracy and public welfare.

Rashdi said both sides found common grounds on several questions. Tehreek Tahaffuz-E-Oyeen Pakistan has planned a magnificent meeting in Islamabad on 25-26. February and invited GDA to participate. GDA will determine its participation after internal consultations.

Former National Assembly Chairman Dr. Fehmida Mirza said the meeting was not about individuals but national concerns. She criticized the 26th amendment, the Peca Act and the Indus Channel Construction as Draconic Measures and called for a unified match.

She warned that water buttonness was not only a problem for Sindh, but also threatened Balochistan’s survival. She also condemned decisions that were made outside the Council for Common Interest (CCI).

Both parties agreed to form committees to tackle these challenges.

Pir Pagara welcomed the leaders of Tehreek Tahaffuz-E-Oyeen Pakistan and emphasized that the Constitution was the country’s foundation. He reiterated that the current parliament was unpredicted and uneven, and that is why GDA members, despite not being elected, have not subsided.

He maintained that true power should rest with people’s real representatives.

Dr. Safdar Abbasi described the meeting as a positive development and emphasized that both sides are in line with many questions.
