As Tiger Woods continues to mourn the loss of her mother, Kultida Woods, Genesis Invitational Organizers has revealed plans to honor her.
The par-4 seventh hole will have a white flag free of logos and wording in a nod to Wood’s deceased mother and her faith.
According to a social media post from PGA Tour, Kuldida Wood’s Buddhism practiced. The color white and # 7 are given high consideration for Buddhists.

It is assumed that White represents information, knowledge and purity. Kuldida, whose name is often abbreviated to Tida, was born in Thailand. Her home country’s flag contains a pair of white stripes, which are also believed to symbolize the Buddhist faith.

“It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share my dear mother, Kuldida Woods, died early this morning,” he said. “My mother was a nature power that all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laughter.”
Genesis in 2025 started Thursday at San Deigo’s Torrey Pines Golf Course. Woods recently announced that he would not compete in the tournament as he continues to treat his mother’s death.

The par-4 seventh hole on the field also represents a significant moment in Woods’ great career. In 2008 he won the US Open Championship on the seventh green. Woods defeated Rocco conveyed by breaking a tie on the seventh hole after 18-hole competition.
Kuldida met Tiger’s father, Earl while in the military in Thailand. Kuldida and Earl moved to Brooklyn, New York, after they bothered the knot. The couple later moved to Cypress, California, where Tiger was born. Earl Woods died in California in 2006.
According to ESPN, Tiger, whose real name is Eldrick, was named after his mother and father. The name Eldrick begins with an e in honor of Earl and ends with a K in honor of Kuldida.
