Heavy weight champion George Foreman has died at the age of 76, his family announced Friday.
Foreman died surrounded by loved ones, his family said.
“Our hearts are broken,” the family wrote in an Instagram post. “With a deep grief, we advertise the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr., who peacefully left on March 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.”

“A devoted predicate, a devoted man, a loving father and a proud grand and great -grandfather, he lived a life that was characterized by unwavering belief, humility and purpose,” the post continued.
“A humanitarian, an Olympic and twice the heavyweight master in the world, he was deeply respected – a strength to good, a man of discipline, conviction and a protector of his heritage who fought tirelessly to preserve his good name – to his family,” the post added.
His family said they “are grateful for the outflow of love and prayers, and please ask for privacy as we honor the extraordinary life of a man we were blessed to call our own.”
