Toronto Blue Jay’s Outfielder George Springer was heated on Tuesday night after a ball he stood down the left field line was controlled to be foul by Umpires.
After striking out at the next pitch, seemed to be blaming the referee of rigging the game in favor of New York Yankees.
Blue Jays were facing Boston Red Sox, but Yankees incorporated into the Al East Position. New York sat two matches behind Toronto for the division’s lead, which came in Tuesday. Blue Jays ‘loss to Boston, combined with Yankees’ walk-off victory over Chicago White Sox, cut Toronto’s lead to a game on the way to Wednesday.

With the bases loaded and two outs, jumping had a chance not only to tie the game – Red Sox led by one – but putting Toronto in front in a central matchup. He turned on a Lucas Giolito change and smashed it down the line, past third Baseman Alex Bregman. It looked like jumping could have cleared the bases.

But the third basic referee quickly controlled the ball. Jumping threw his hands up into the air and shouted as he reached the first base before he was forced back to continue bats. He struck out at the next pitch.
Cameras later caught jumping, still fuming in Blue Jays’ dugout. Jimmy O’Brien, known as Jomboy in the Baseball Society, released a breakdown of the moment and read Spring’s lips as he waited for teammates.

“If they want New York to win, just tell me and give it to them already,” said apparently.
The remark emphasized how much Blue Jays recognizes the effort in these late seasonal matches. Still, it was a heavy accusation to suggest that a referee rig a game for the benefit of another team.
After further review of Springer’s turn, the ball seemed to jump on fair territory before passing the third base, which by rule makes it a fair ball.
Umpire looked different and the call turned out to be expensive. Red Sox won, 4-1. The next night Boston Toronto beat again, 7-1, while Yankee’s defeated White Sox, 8-1.

It left Blue Jay Jays and Yankees tied to the Al East lead with only four matches left on each of their schedules.
