Hadden Kelly, a 17-year-old golfer in high school, died in Georgia Monday after sudden collapse in a farm, Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith confirmed this week.
Smith told WGXA News that Kelly, his great -grandson, participated in “Homecoming Activities” on a residence with his friend as he collapsed in the yard. Kelly did not respond and later declared death on stage.
Smith added Kelly’s body was sent to an autopsy to determine his cause of death.

“Hadden was an outgoing child and he never met a stranger,” Smith told the station.
Kelly was an avid golfer who worked at Dodge County Golf Club and was a member of Dodge County High School’s golf team. The school’s golf coach, Paula Selph, and the team shared a message after Kelly’s death on the school’s Facebook page.

“Hadden loved the golf and the golf team definitely loves Hadden,” the post read. “Hadden was our team leader, always encouraging, and forever spoke positive words to everyone around him. He hoped that our golf team would continue to improve and desperately demand after participating in the state tournament. He was our top preaching golfer and always ended earlier than most of his teammates. Not about him.
“What a witness to his character! We love Hadden and we love his family! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Let’s take this example of selflessness in our own lives and little by little make the world a better place!

Smith also talked about Kelly’s love for the golf game.
“He played every day and I think if it was something he would do, he would have gone pro because he was so good.”
Dodge County High School also released its own statement on Facebook.
