EXCLUSIVE: More than $ 514,000 has been donated to “Help Karmelo Anthony Official Fund” on the crowd-sourcing site giverendgo.com.

This sum of half a million dollars is the result of an alleged murder that took place at a trace meeting in Frisco, Texas, on April 2nd.

The victim was the 17-year-old Austin Metcalf from Memorial High School who died in a deadly stabbing. The suspect, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony from Centennial High School, was just released from prison on bond after lawyers reduced his bail from $ 1 million.

Anthony has told police that he “did it” what means the murder-but has claimed it was in self-defense. He is charged with first -time murder.

Now Giverendgo is a leader in online fundraising to Anthony’s family expenses. Other large crowd-sourcing platforms, including Gofundme and Kickstarter, have not placed a campaign for Anthony on their sites.

But Giveendgo co -founder Jacob Wells and his leadership team have Anthony’s campaign.

“How proud am I of this campaign? I don’t, I wouldn’t say I’m proud at all,” Wells told Pakinomist Digital in an exclusive interview.

“I have no pride in having this on Giverendgo. I’m just appreciating what Giverendgo does in the midst of these tragic moments that stand in principle, which is to love people, even in the midst of very hard and dark places.”

Wells admitted that there have been other campaigns on his side, as a fetal home for Boys Fundraiser. But Anthony’s fundraiser is not one of them.

Wells claimed that his company has only ever removed campaigns for reasons considered “illegal” or raising money under false assumptions. He says he has taken a fundraiser to fraudulent to raise money for travel expenses while the organizer intended to spend the money to buy a gun.

Wells refused directly to say if there were any conversations about removing the campaign, but insists that “largely” everyone involved in leadership in the company has supported platforming of it.

Wells compared Anthony Fund with the one his platform hosted Kyle Rittenhouse in 2020. This effort raised over $ 250,000 after Rittenhouse shot three men in Kineshoa, Wisconsin, under Jacob Blake.

But now Anthony’s campaign has raised more than double this number and is looking for more. As Wells and his colleagues have faced threats with setbacks and deaths, he said he had had a conversation about donating the profits from Fundraiser to the Metcalf family to try to make a point that they not just platforms Anthony’s Fund for financial gain.

Wells has also been particularly aware of this campaign in recent weeks as it has been one of the biggest and most notorious his platform has ever hosted. He has gone out of his way of noting the types of people who donate and why they donate.

And for him, some of these people donate for the “wrong reasons.”

“There will always be people donating for the wrong reasons, on any campaign. There are people who think the best way forward is a race division. That’s what they think. So they will stoke the flames in the race division, but they can,” Wells said. “When you live in free communities, as we do, there is a price to pay, and that is that it allows some people to do things that may not be good. And I think people do it all the time.”

Wells specifically pointed out to “advocate a race tale” as the wrong reason for wanting to donate to the campaign when asked.

“When someone advocates a racial tale that is divisive and not uniting, I would argue that it is a wrong reason to donate. And there are people who have donated who make claims that are upsets that are divisive and not unite,” Wells said in some comments. “Unfortunately, in free societies, people can say that there are divisive and not entice,” Wells said.

“They also go both ways. We have seen people who have given donations because donation is a way for you to comment on the campaign page … You have people who are on the other side of the time and they will donate a minimum of $ 5 donation just so they can leave a comment to be derogatory to the Anthony family.”

Still, Wells claims that the “overwhelming majority” of commitment to fundraiser has not been “derogatory.”

Wells refused to point out any specific comments that represent the “wrong” reasons. However, some public comments reviewed by Pakinomist Digital reflect Wells’ racial narrative “reference.

“Honestly, even though Karmelo stabbed Austin for no reason at all, I would still donate and support. White has gotten away to kill us for hundreds of years. I might be interested in white life,” read a comment with 53 likes.

Wells accused “right -wing indignation” of driving support for fundraiser.

“The indignation of the right has burned the response from the other side,” Wells said, adding that he saw similar patterns occurred due to leftist response to the Rittenhouse Foundation, and when his site hosted a campaign to support Daniel Penny after killing Jordan Neely in defense of New York City Subway Riders in 2023.

Representatives of the Anthony family have referred to race while comparing Anthony’s situation with Rittenhouse’s and Penny’s.

Next Generation Action Network (Ngan) President Dominique Alexander made the comparison at a press conference on April 17.

“Because these racist bigots are trying to prevent us from standing up for our baby, our boy, he should have the same rights that Kyle Rittenhouse had, Daniel Penny and all the people who have claimed what their defense was – he should have the same right,” Alexander said.

Anthony was recently moved from his home to a “non -revealed place to secure his immediate security” after a “alarming rise in death threats, continued harassment and physical threats targeting the family home,” Ngan said in a statement last week.

Meanwhile, the Metcalf family has been victims of Swatting in recent weeks, Frisco Police Department (FPD) has previously confirmed. SWATTING is when a 911 call is made, usually to report a false violent crime, to get police and sometimes even SWAT teams to respond to the address given by the one who rings.

Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, told earlier Pakinomist“I want to clarify something right away to start because I’ve already heard some rumors and gossip. This wasn’t a race thing. This is not a political thing.

“Don’t politics this. It is not … this is a human thing. This person made a bad choice and affected both his family and my family forever.”
