If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a professional golfer, you now have an opportunity to do so thanks to Troon and Crystal Cruises.
Troon, the world’s largest professional club management company and the cruise line have joined forces to deliver the new Crystal Cup, where ordinary golfers have a chance to win a 29-night cruise from Singapore to Tokyo. Luke Donald, Team Europe’s Ryder Cup captain and LPGA star Lexi Thompson is joint ambassadors for the tournament and expects an unforgettable experience.
“I love to go abroad through my job. It’s important with my family, we travel just as much when I’m not on the road and play golf and try to experience new places and a lot of different cultures,” Donald told Pakinomist Digital. “It’s great to see Crystal getting involved in golf to create Crystal Golf with Troon, and they will create some events where regular golfers get to play some of the best courses in the world. It’s always nice to try to grow the game that way.”

“As golfers we travel around the world, but unfortunately we sometimes don’t get to experience it much,” Thompson added. “So getting to work with them is a great experience for me. Hopefully many more good experiences to come up with a company.”
Seven States – Alabama, Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina, Maryland, New York and Texas, will have 10 local qualifications, with three regional qualifications taking place in Carlsbad, California, Sanford, NC and San Antonio, Texas afterwards. The final will be at Sea Island Golf Resort from 23 to 26 October in Georgia.
“You will get some of the most incredible experiences around the world on some of the most advanced golf courses. Collaborates with Troon, which brings two brands like the one together, there are endless opportunities for the two companies to work together. So I think it will be nothing but good things to come,” Thompson said.

“The funny thing is to have access to some of these big golf courses that Troon owns and drives the public to see, and everyone loves to be a competition, right? So having the opportunity to go to these very advanced facilities, I think that’s what Crystal is about, creates something unique, something special, something a little bit other than what you can usually get,” added Donald. “I think it’s very cool for the game, and for these fans it will hopefully be part of the Crystal Cup.”
If you come shortly after the big prize, those who end near the top can still be rewarded. Each member of the two-person teams to qualify for the Crystal Cup final will receive a voucher to be redeemed against any crystal cruise, and runners will each receive a ticket to enjoy a European cruise for them and a guest with Crystal.

The first regional qualifier is currently set to May 17 at Cimarron Hills in Georgetown, Texas, and all players will compete in both the gross and net departments, regardless of disability, in a modified Scramble format.
