In the battle for the best headphones, Sony and Bowers & Wilkins are high on our list – and of the two pairs we think the B&W headphones sound better than Sony. And now they are available to US customers to order after they are already launched elsewhere in the world.

Sony’s price increase on the new Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones compared to the previous model means that the B&W par is the same price as DEM-MB B&W has a clear edge of sound quality.
What is so good about Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S3?
To be fair to Sony, XM6’s active noise cancellation is better – although B & W’s ANC is very good. But if you are serious with sound, B&W cans are the better buy.
The B&W PX7 S3 headphones really deliver unusual sound, and as we said in our review, the only thing we can imagine is improved in future versions, wind noise suppression. It is testimony to how good the B&W PX7 S3 sound that we had to go so deeply to find something to complain about.
In our review, we praised unity and singularity for the presentation in all genres, whether we listen to Aphex Twin or Aretha Franklin. As my colleague Simon Lucas explained: “As well as the impeccable tonal balance, PX7 picks up S3 and contextualizes a huge amount of fine details, which does not contribute to the feeling of a complete and unexplored account of recordings.”
Technically, you look at Bluetooth 5.3 with APTX-adaptive and APTX-free, 40 mm biocellulose drivers with discreet reinforcement and up to 30 hours of battery life with ANC on. Bluetooth Le Audio and Auracast promise soon to arrive in a free firmware update, just like the spatial sound.
