- Sergey Brin has confirmed his belief that employees have to work 60 hours a week
- Google-Med Founder is also a spokesman for Return-To-Office policies
- But Infosys CEO Narayana Murthy wants another 10 hours/week
Google co-founder Sergey Brin has confirmed his faith that workers should consider giving up to 60 hours a week to their jobs.
An internal memo seen by New York Times Brin has once again called on workers to set aside 60 hours each week to work to specifically follow Google as Microsoft and Openai in the AI race.
Brin is also an obvious spokesman for in the office working for his perceived productivity benefits, adding that workers may want to consider visiting the office at least every weekday to get things done.
Longer hours
“60 hours a week is the sweet productivity site,” Brin declared as he discussed how under -priesting workers can be “demoralizing” for others: “A number of people work less than 60 hours and a small number put in the mere minimum to get by.”
To not forget that worker burn is still one thing, especially among developers, Brin also called for increased use of artificial intelligence tools.
Of course, it is working as Google to develop better AI models, but it should not prevent workers from exploiting current technologies to make them the “most effective coders and AI scientists in the world,” he said.
Brin is not the only business leader in favor of extreme working hours – Infosy’s CEO Narayana Murthy has called on Indian workers to devote a staggering 70 hours a week to life the country’s poorest out of poverty once and for all.
Big Tech has also returned to the office’s work and increased their return to office policies from three days a week to Five-Amazon and Dell are two such companies, both of which have been met with widespread dissatisfaction with the worker.
As we continue our long-term return to ‘normal’ in a post-pandemic world, the definition of ‘normal’ continues to switch when the jerk between worker and employer wants to become more clear.
