Giving sense of priorities in your work calls could soon be much more straightforward thanks to an AI-assisted update coming to Google Meet.
The video conference service has announced that it will now use Gemini to create a checklist of “next step” after completing each call and collects the most important actions that need attention in the future.
And to make sure nothing important is missing out on, Google Meet also makes all LIVE image texts that are generated during your calls available for up to 30 minutes after they are created, rather than immediately disappears as the conversation goes on.

The “Next Steps” feature is an extension to the existing “Take Notes for ME” tool launched to Google Meet back in August 2024, which aimed to identify key points in the discussion and send a summary e -mail after a call , which saves users time.
Now the next step and follow -up point are automatically identified and organized and organized in the document on meeting totat “with users who are able to review and edit as needed, and assign tasks to specific people.
“This latest improvement in note recordings will help ensure that important follow-ups have not missed and keeps everyone in line with what happens next after your meeting,” updates a Google Workspace blog post that advertises the launch.

Users will also now be able to roll back through live captions, including translated captions, for up to 30 minutes. Google says this will be particularly useful if you have missed part of the conversation or you will review specific details mentioned earlier in the conversation, with the available feature for all Google Workspace customers as well as users with personal Google -Accounts.
Both features are rolling out to fast release domains now, though the “Next Steps” feature will take more time to be available to most, as Google says it wants to “carefully monitor performance and quality.”
The next steps will be available to users on Google Workspace Business Standard and plus levels along with Enterprise Standard and Plus users. It will also be available with the Gemini Education Premium Add-on as well as for anyone who has previously purchased Gemini Enterprise or AI meetings and messaging addances.
