Google messages seem to get an update to its group chat feature that allows you to add custom icons to your group chats.
If the new feature that has already been discovered by some users is fully rolled out, it would mark the latest upgrade in Google’s message service to Android after the message of Four new design upgrades Last week.
9to5Google First, the change in Google messages discovered and shared that a handful of users have noticed that they have the freedom to set their own group chocoons. Although some users seem to have access to the new feature, the upgrade is not available to everyone yet and no official roll -out date has been announced.
You can check to see if the feature is available to you by opening a group conversation and pressing the top beam to reveal the group information. If a pencil icon appears to the right of your group chat’s existing image, it means you can set your own icon.
Elsewhere, a recent Reddit post notes that GIFs cannot be set as group chabs, adding that you cannot return to the previous icon after setting a new custom.
Custom group icons that roll out! from r/googlemessages
Right now, Group Chants in Google messages only appear up to four circular profile images, which doesn’t make it easy to differentiate chat. The addition of custom group chocoons would introduce a smoother way to distinguish between chats as opposed to only relying on group catheters and would certainly be an improvement of the Google message ecosystem.
Google -Messages Collect WhatsApp
Compared to rival services, and especially WhatsApp, Google messages have fallen behind when it comes to implementing relatively less upgrades to improve the user’s experience. Since January, however, messages have been subject to some minor design changes and functionality improvements, giving the service a long -due makeover.
One of the first changes introduced earlier this year allowed users to once again set names and profile images to their contacts and turn a previous change that had annoyed many users. This was followed by the discovery of code that suggested that group -chat reading receipts came to Google messages.
Another APK demolition in March pointed to the possible addition of the WhatsApp-Style Group Chat mentions, and in April several group chat-muted features were teased in another demolition. So it seems that Google is compensating for lost time in trying to bring his messaging service up to speed – let us know what you think about the latest changes in the comments below.
