Embarrassing texts are the worst, we’ve all been there, but Google plans to crush that feeling and start rolling a ‘Delete for all’ option in Google messages for Android – just a few months after preliminary rumors.

The new USEND feature soon has two different options, the first one is’ Delete for me ‘, which is already part of Google messages’ Ecosystem, and the second is its upcoming’ Delete for All ‘button, which, as the name suggests, will remove messages from the sight of other contacts.

We first heard about Google’s plans to introduce an USEND button back in February when Android Authority shared an APK demolition, and the website’s authors managed to make it work in March. A feature like this has been a long time on Google messages, but even when it rolls out, it comes with some small disadvantages.

So far ‘Delete for everyone’ is limited to large group cats

When it comes to endless texts, Google Messages are behind them as WhatsApp and iMessage, which has offered the opportunity to delete messages to everyone in a chat for quite a long time. It’s good to see Google catching up, but there are still two catches you should notice.

As mentioned in our previous reports, Google is likely to stay with its 15-minute window for its ‘Delete for all’ feature, which means that if you want to remove a text from a conversation, you will have to act pretty quickly. But that is not the only problem that users have noticed.

Although the Reddit post above gives an insight into what the Google message’s new USEND function will look like, the user also draws our attention to the fact that the feature is only available in larger group chats. For them, ‘Delete for everyone’ works only in a group chat with 12 members, and they have not yet found a 1: 1 chat that allows them to delete messages to everyone.

As it says, this new feature has a lot of restrictions, but because it is only in the very early stages of roll -out, we hope Google will change these when it is widely available to all Google Message users.
