- A complete list of colors and storage configurations are leaked to the Pixel 10 series
- Oddly enough you may only be able to get a jadeshade with 256 GB of storage
- Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL may be starting with only 128 GB
After tomorrow’s expected Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 reveal, the Google Pixel 10 series is probably the next big smartphone launch we will see and leaks start painting a picture of what to expect, right down to the colors of the handset.
According to Distributor Data seen by Droidlife, Google Pixel 10 will be sold in Obsidian (black), frost (probably white), indigo (purple or blue) and lemongrass (a pale yellow) shades, all with a choice of 128 GB or 256 GB of storage.
For the Google Pixel 10 Pro, there is the possibility of porcelain (white) or Moonstone, each with 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB of storage, and there is also an obsidian shade with the same storage capacity along with a 1 TB option. Oddly enough, they also mention a jade (green) shade, but say this is only available with 256 GB of storage.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is listed in the same selection of colors as the Pixel 10 Pro, but there is no 128 GB option for porcelain or Moonstone shades.
Finally, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is listed which comes in 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB configurations, all available in Moonstone, while there are only 256 GB and 512 GB available in Jade.
Strange options
There are a few strange things here. The first is to limit the Jade shade to only a 256 GB capacity for the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. It is not entirely unheard of for telephone manufacturers to offer only certain colors with a particular storage capacity, but it seems to be a shame as Jade sounds like one of the more interesting color settings.
You are apparently also limited to the obsidic hue to these two phones if you want 1 TB of storage space and if you want a 128 GB Pixel 10 Pro XL, Obsidian will also allegedly be the only color setting.
Another notable thing here is that the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL both apparently start at 128 GB. It is true for the current models, but it is not a very ‘pro’ storage capacity, so we would not have been surprised if it was dropped.
The colors here also match a previous Pixel 10 color leakage. DROIDLIFE notes that distributors sometimes use cod names for colors, so it can take into account the discrepancies if code names were used here but not in previous leaks. However, some of these are colors that we have seen pixels in before, and therefore they are probably not code names. So one of these leaks is probably wrong.
We will probably find out which August 20, as it is the rumored Pixel 10 -release date, but it is likely that many more leaks and rumors will come up before then.
