Google Pixel 9A has not had the smoothest launches with the discovery that it lacks different Pixel 9 features and an unexpected delay to its sale date. According to Google, this delay was down to a “component quality problem”, but the company did not become more specific. But now another has it.
According to Leaker @techauntyji -post on X (via telephone arena), a named “very high profile phone” was delayed due to “warm -up rods. Especially around the camera.” So it sounds like Google Pixel 9A was inclined to overheat when the camera was in use.
However, we will take this with a pinch of salt for a few reasons. First, the source does not have much of a track record, and secondly, they claim that a software update should be able to solve the problem, while Google’s comment on a “component quality problem” suggests a hardware problem.

Of course, it is possible that when Google first delayed Pixel 9A, it was not sure if the problem could be corrected with an update and now learned that it may be.
It is also worth noting that since Google Pixel 9A is not mentioned by name here, it is possible @techauntyji refers to another device. However, this is very unlikely, as we cannot think of anything else that this wording would apply to (also in an answer, they joked, “not google it”).

In any case, the delicious Google repeats even in claiming that Pixel 9A will be back in action in April, so hopefully you don’t have to wait too long to get one.
That said, with Google Pixel 9A, missing some of its siblings AI tools and even the potentially life-saving satellite-soss feature found on other Pixel 9 models, you might think twice about whether you actually want the phone.
It still has a lot to do for it, the mind, including a larger battery than even Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, the same chipset as its more expensive siblings and a lower price than these phones. Keep an eye on our full review in the coming weeks.
