- Google highlighted new hardware on it made by the Google event
- This includes a mystery smart talk we haven’t seen before
- It could be realized by an event in a few months
On August 20, 2025, made by the Google event, gave us lots of new hardware to party on -including (of course) the new Google Pixel 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro Fold Android Smartphones. But in a quick (non-hero-flash-and-you ‘LL-MISS-IT) segment, we got a glimpse of an unannounced Google Smart speaker.
Showcase was filled with Komos, and in such a star-studded showcase we saw Formula 1 driver Lando Norris and NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade and use Gemini’s advice to better tackle the other’s sport.
Pixel 10 phones appeared, and Norris also used a new mini speaker with Gemini.
As you can see in the picture above, the device is not like something Google is currently doing – our audio editor Becky Scarrott described his appearance as “as a HomePod Mini in a Google dress, but with an Echo Dot ring around the bottom”, which perfectly summarizes it.
It also seems to have Google Gemini’s reasoning forces based on how it was used, suggesting that it may be launched as part of Gemini for home upgrade, as Google has promised.
While the Gemini upgrade is also promised for existing smart speakers and screens, it certainly makes sense that Google wants to upgrade his lineup with some new hardware.

We haven’t had new hardware since Google Nest Hub (2nd generation) in 2021, and before that was the last Nest speaker we got, Google Nest Audio, just pressed into our best smart speaker’s list (but mostly because it’s best for Google).
So we’re too long for an upgrade and it looks like Google is ready to deliver one in the not too distant future.
Most likely we will see something “in the fall” (then September to November), as it is when Google has promised a major update, which also had to solve the many complaints that users have about their devices.
