Google’s Chrome Web Store for Enterprises is officially launched, which means that the company that administrators are about to have much more control over the type of browser extensions that employees can access.
First teased back in October 2024, the new company-related Chrome Web large organizations allow the curate lists of pre-approved Chrome extensions for their workers to reduce the risks associated with malicious extensions.
Tools built into the admin controls show discreet results for extensions to provide additional visibility in the potential risks.

The feature is dependent on Google’s Security Operations (Secops) Tools to offer real -time telemetry and risk scoring, giving the administrators detailed insight into expansion and more, but risk score provided by third -party platform spin.ai.
“By providing greater control, visibility and security, Google is obliged to strengthen companies to exploit the full potential of chrome extensions while protecting their critical assets,” wrote Chrome Web Store & Extension’s product manager Hafsah Ismail and Chrome Enterprise Product Manager Maxime Martin in the message.
Hafsah and Martin summarized the benefits that include simplified access, improved security, increased productivity, customizable interface and more transparency.
The corporate -specific web shops will also include the company’s branding, including logos, images and messages that allow companies further adaptation of their employee experiences.
In addition to the possibility of curating pre -approved lists, administrators will also be able to remove extensions from users’ systems in an update later this year. Another update arriving this year will let business administrators look forward to customer blocks on expansion details. Google hopes this will reduce end -user requests to it.
The new Chrome Web Store is free available to Chrome Enterprise Core and Chrome Enterprise Premium users.
