- New lit completely updates the hero 2024 with built-in LED light
- There are also 4K video upgrades and now magnetic mounting
- It is now available for $ 269.99 / £ 239.99 / AU $ 419.95
It’s September, which means two security in consumer technology: The latest iPhones and Gopros hit the market. Probably enough, the iPhone 17 series is here, and now the Gopro’s trip with two new models that joins Action Camera King’s Range: The Max 2 and The Lit Hero.
We have already tested Gopros long awaited 360 camera prior to the launch-see our MAX 2 review for more details. As for the lit hero, it is an exciting upgrade from last year’s Hero 2024, continued Gopro’s smallest and cheapest entry level hero series.
The lit hero is a reasonable update with a unique new feature-built-in LEDs. The Quad LED unit has three brightness levels and can throw a small stuffing light on your motifs. It looks especially practical for selfies.
Built-in LEDs look much more practical than fucking with Gopros Light Courage, especially in a small action cam like the lit hero weighing only 2.9 OZ / 83G. Honestly it is one of the moments that lets me ask Why haven’t anyone done this before?
Despite the predictable timing of two new GoPro action -Cams, there is a greater surprise -this is the first year of a decade without a new flagship hero black model. It seems that those who expect Hero 14 Black to have a longer wait. We’ve talked to GoPro about the future of its flagship herd Black Series – Keep an eye on the article coming soon.
As for the lit hero, it costs $ 269.99 / £ 239.99 / AU $ 419.95, which means it’s a little more expensive than the hero 2024, but less than Hero 13 Black. Let’s look at the other upgrades that the latest models on Entry-Level bring.
A persuasive entry-level-action cam?
We could appreciate what GoPro tried with the hero of 2024-to create a small and simple-as-can-be action cam. However, we felt that there was a cut for many for us to recommend last year’s model.
Through a series of upgrades in an equally small and light gasket, the lit looks completely to increase the series.
In addition to the Quad LED Light unit, the turned onto completely 4K video images up to 60 fps. Lower image speed to 30 FPS, and it is possible to shoot in a new ‘high’ 4: 3 image in addition to standard 16: 9, providing social cuts of better quality.
The lit hero also inherits the Gopros 3-in-1 mounting design from more expensive models such as Hero 13 Black, which means magnetic mounting features. Quick mounting is a welcome upgrade to what is a simple action cam by design.
Elsewhere, it’s like you were. Like the hero of 2024, the lit is completely waterproof up to 5 m, has a non-distressable enduro battery, and it shoots 12MP photos, albeit lived in low light with these LEDs.
We will be sure to share our GoPro lit Hero judgment shortly after to our usual in-depth test.
