Islamabad:
The federal government has appointed secretary education Nadeem Mahbub as acting chairman of the Higher Education Commission, since Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed’s period has ended.
The Ministry of Education has issued an official notification of the appointment specifying that the appointment of Nadeem Mahbub will be for three months, or until the appointment of a permanent chairman of HEC.
Nadeem Mahbub is also a member of the HEC Commission, and on this basis the Prime Minister has appointed him acting chairman in accordance with Underklaus 3 in section 8 of the HEC Act. According to sources, the former chairman of HEC made various agreements and transfers yesterday. Mahbub assumes responsibility for chairman HEC today together with the secretary training.
