KARACHI:
The Inter-Board Coordination Commission (IBCC) has taken strong exception to keeping the federal government in the dark over the investigation into the question paper leak, and has written a strongly worded letter to Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) asking it to share the results of the investigation by January 23 at the latest.
In the letter, the IBCC has reminded the CIE that it is yet to share the details of the investigations and subsequent decision on the leak of the mathematics paper. The letter also mentioned CIE’s response to its previous correspondence.
“It was indicated that Cambridge is investigating the concerns about the alleged leak and will update with a response once the investigation is complete and a decision is made,” the letter said, adding that no report was shared with it, even after sending several reminders.
The letter said the IBCC was surprised to learn through a notice from the Sindh High Court (SHC) that the CIE had conducted the investigation but failed to punish those responsible for the paper leak.
The Commission took strong exception to this position as CIE did not take IBCC into confidence in the results of the investigation, despite having completed the investigation.
“The issue of continued non-cooperation in providing the necessary information to the IBCC raises significant concerns, especially when the IBCC is required to present such information at national higher forums,” the IBC letter said.
