The government announced on Friday that it will repatriate Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders as part of its ongoing illegal foreigners Repatriation Program (IFRP), which began on November 1, 2023.
In a statement, authorities advised all illegal foreign nationals, including ACC holders, to leave Pakistan voluntarily before March 31. Deportation procedures begin from April 1 for those who do not comply.
The government stated that the repatriation process will be implemented in a human way, ensuring that all affected individuals’ worthy returns.
“Sufficient time has been given for a voluntary return,” says it sounds, and added, “events for food and health services have also been made to return to foreign nationals.”
Pakistan has long hosted Afghan refugees and continues to maintain his international responsibility. However, officials reiterated that those who wanted to remain in the country must meet legal requirements and comply with Pakistan’s constitution.
Under IFRP Repatriors all undocumented foreigners, including Afghans,. Afghan citizens sponsored by European or other foreign countries will not be deported at the moment, but if their resettlement plans are not soon completed, they may also meet deportation, according to sources from the Ministry of the Interior.
As part of the program, 781 Afghan citizens have already been repatriated from Islamabad via the Torkham border.
