Govt announces three-day vacation to Eidul Fitr

The federal government on Wednesday officially announced the holidays for Eidul Fitr, starting from March 31 to April 2.

A notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat stated that the Prime Minister has declared these dates as holidays to celebrate Eidul Fitr.

The holiday season ranges from Monday to Wednesday so that citizens can observe the festivities and celebrate the apartment.

Meanwhile, the central Ruet-E-Hilal Committee meets with Zonal Committee on Sunday evening, March 30, 2025 (Ramazan 29, 1446 Ah) to see Shawwal Moon marking the potential end of the holy month Ramadan and the beginning of Eid Ul-Fitr celebrations in Pakistan.

The meeting will be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, where religious scholars, meteorological experts and other stakeholders will gather to investigate moonlight on reports from all over the country.

This session determines the exact date of Eid Ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.

Earlier, in February 2025, Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) predicted the visibility of both Ramadan and Shawwal Crescents based on scientific assessments, astronomical calculations and observation data.

According to these models, Shawwal Moon is expected to be visible on March 30, indicating that Eid Ul-Fitr is likely to fall on March 31, 2025.
