The government has officially appointed May 16 as a “YouM-E-Taskur” (gratitude Day) to commemorate the significant results of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and Ma’araka-E-Haq, while it makes it clear that no public holiday will be observed on the day.

YouM-e-Taskur is celebrated across the country on Friday to honor the historic victory of Marka-E-Haq and pay tribute to the tapping armed forces and people in Pakistan, Radio Pakistan reported on Thursday.

After the announcement, a review began to circulate widely on social media and claimed that on May 16, it would be observed as a public holiday throughout the country, with all schools and offices closed.

However, official government sources have rejected these claims and clarifying that there will be no holiday on May 16. The authorities have stated unequivocally that the viral notification is false and no such directive has been issued.

“The day of gratitude will be observed at national level, but it does not entail a general holiday,” the sources confirmed and encouraged citizens to rely on verified channels for accurate information.
