Islamabad:
The federal government has begun to shape a new national resilience plan 2025-26 to better prepare Pakistan for the next Monsun season with the aim of reducing destruction caused by floods and other natural disasters.
“The National Resistance Plan must be the result -focused with clear strategies to reduce the losses as a result of such accidents – whether in terms of human life, infrastructure, crops or livestock,” Dr. Malik.
Officials say the upcoming plan is seeking to avoid repeating by identifying areas at high risk, integrating scattered response systems and ensuring faster, more coordinated relief operations.
Dr. Malik also recognized weaknesses in the current system and called it fragmented. “It requires integration into a single, streamlined framework that is fast, coordinated and efficient,” he said, confirming the government’s commitment to work closely with NDMA and other stakeholders.
