Govt evokes disadvantage of the disadvantage of Muharram Harmony

Islamabad:

Interior Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi and Prime Minister of the Inner Talal Chaudhry held an important meeting with leading religious scholars from all over the country on Thursday to discuss measures to maintain peace, law and order and interreligious harmony under Muharram, especially at Ashura.

The meeting, chairman of the chairman of the central Ruet-E-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, gathered scholars from all thought schools. Senior officials from the Ministry of the Interior, the FIA, the Islamabad police and other law enforcement authorities were also present.

During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi praised the significant role that religious scholars play in maintaining peace and stability in sensitive times. He said their efforts are as crucial as the security forces and that scholars remain in constant contact with the administration, which helps to solve problems before escalating. He added that he had personally witnessed that many sensitive issues were resolved peacefully through the wisdom and efforts of religious scholars.

The Minister emphasized the importance of mutual respect between different sects and said, “We should neither give up our own sect nor attack others.” He called this a golden principle that had to spread throughout the country to promote unity. He also emphasized that Imam Hussain (AS) is a reverential figure for all Muslims and that every believer shares an equally spiritual connection with him.
