Govt hails the ATC judgment in May 9 SAGES

Islamabad/Lahore:

When the federal government paid tribute to it as a “positive step”, the federal government on Tuesday greeted a court’s decision to judge a number of PTI leaders, including Punjab assembly leader for Opposition Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar in rebel cases on May 9.

“Today, Sargodha ATC issued an order, and we welcome it … I think it’s a very positive step when justice has been maintained,” Prime Minister of Law and Justice Attorney Aqeel Malik said Monday while spending a press conference in Islamabad.

He said the verdict “meets all the demands of justice” and followed proper process when the entire trial was made legally. “The announced decision is in accordance with the law and the constitution,” Malik said.

“When you take the law in your own hand, whether you are a mna or MPA or opposition leader… the [status] It does not matter as the law is equal to everyone and comes into force. “

In response to the verdict, Bhachar wrote on X that he will not leave “the leader of Umat-E-Muslima and the son of Mianwali Prime Minister Imran Khan” no matter what.

Other PTI leaders also condemned the judgments as a mockery of justice.

Deputy opposition leader in the Punjab assembly, Muhammad Moeen out your Riaz Qureshi, called the ATC judgments a “black day for democracy” he said that legislators, including Bhachar in the largest province, were illegally convicted because of fabricated evidence and witnesses.

“Each child in Pakistan knows well about the fate of these cases. The public is fully aware of the behavior of the court. PTI will challenge ATC’s decision in the Court of Appeal. Bhachar was the opposition leader and he will remain the opposition leader,” he said.

PTI’s headspice in the Punjab assembly, Rana Shahbaz Ahmad, said such judgments will not force them to bow as they stood for a case and the future of the nation.

“If such decisions persist, there is no doubt that 80% of PTI legislators will be convicted -despite having no connection to the FIR violations,” he said.

He demanded that the government be a committee to review the counterfeit cases registered across Punjab against PTI leaders, workers and supporters.

Another legislator Waqa’s Maan criticized ATC’s judgment and called it nothing less than a “burial of justice.” He warned the government against paralyzing the opposition and reminded it to face a similar situation in the future.
