The tenth day of the Muharram-Ul-Haram, also known as Ashura or YouM-E-Ashur, was observed all over the world with in-depth solemn Sunday. Millions participated in grief processes to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who sacrificed the ultimate victim in the Battle of Karbala.
The day acts as a gripping reminder of Hazrat Imam Hussain’s (RA) unwavering resilience and his family and devoted companions that bravely defended Islam’s principles against tyranny.
While many people mark Ashura with a traditional pilgrimage to Hazrat Imam Hussain’s (RA) Mausoleum in Karbala, Iraq, devoted to black was collected in cities around the world and honored his memory through disciplined and heartfelt demonstrations of grief and devotion.
The processes emphasized the deep spiritual connection supporters feel the victims made a millennium ago.
