Memphis Grizzlies Center Zach Edey was allegedly stopped in Indiana for allegedly driving through a 55 mph zone earlier this month.
The 7-Foot-4 basketball player was indicted for reckless driving and will appear in the Tippecanoe County Court next week, according to online posts.
Edey became wrong and walked about 101 km / h on Indiana 25 on May 1, reported Journal & Courier with reference to a police statement.

Edey allegedly said he was trying to pass another vehicle which was his rationale for speed.
Edey, who stands on 7’4, “was the ninth choice of last year’s NBA draft after winning the Naismith Player of the Year in his last two seasons as Boilermaker. He was appointed all-rookie first team and set 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per competition.

He recently underwent ankle surgery that could result in him missing the start of the 2025-26 season. Edey needed the procedure to repair and restabilize his ankle after spraining it again during training out of season last week.
Grizzlies said 7-foot-4 Canadian would be evaluated again in four months, which is less than two weeks before the 2025-26 season opens October 21.
Edey missed 12 games early in the season due to a sprained left ankle. He continued to play in 66 games and started 55 starts.
