- Hunters International has added TATA Technologies -Files to its Leakage Website
- The files include Excel sheets, presentations and more
- Ransomware -Gruppen tried to sell the archives a few weeks ago
Hunters International, Ransomware operator behind the attacks on the industrial and commercial bank in China (ICBC), US Marshals Service and others, has leaked some of the data it stole from Tata Technologies earlier this year.
Journalists from TechCrunch have reportedly seen the information posted on the groups Dark Web Data Leak site.
In total, Hunters International 1.4 TB TB TATA Technologies -Data, which includes personal details about current and previous employees and confidential information such as purchasing orders. In total, more than 730,000 documents (Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, PDF files and the like) are leaked.
Sells the data
The company suffered a ransomware attack in February this year. The incidentally curled parts of its IT operation and forced the company to temporarily suspend some IT services. It was not known at the time who attackers were.
This is not the first ransomware event that the company has suffered, as Tata Technologies is part of the huge Indian conglomerate Tata group – which boasts over 100 companies across a number of industries – is a rather attractive target for hackers.
Back in October 2022, Tata Power reported a ransomware attack, while Tata Steel fell victim in 2021 to a gang that was dubbed Revil and Tata Teleservices was reportedly targeted in 2023 – illustrated how often the company is hit.
A few weeks ago, news that Hunters International sold the data set on the dark web for a non -revealed sum of money.
