Former Atlanta Braves and New York Yankees star David Justice talked about her previous relationship with actress Halle Berry.
Justice and Berry married in 1993 and were divorced more than four years later. Berry requested divorce in April 1996 with reference to “irreconcilable differences.” Justice then filed his own divorce papers two weeks later. It became official in June 1997.

The World Series Master appeared in Thursday’s edition of the “All The Smoke” podcast and talked about what led to their split.
“Because I was young and I had only, frankly, been in a relationship before her, my knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom about relationship just wasn’t huge,” he said.
“So I look at my mom and I’m a guy in Midwest. So, in my opinion, I think a wife at the time should cook, clean. Then I think, ‘OK, if we have kids, is it the woman I want to have children with and build a family with?'”
In the mid -late 1990s, Berry had a contract with Revlon and had been in films like “Boomerang”, “Jungle Fever” and “The Last Boy Scout.”

“At the time, like a young guy, she doesn’t cook, cleans, doesn’t really look like maternal, and then we start to have trouble,” Justice added. “I will say this. We have never had any problems about any women, other men.”
Justice won her first All-Star Nod in 1993 after their marriage. He was again an all-star in 1994 before the players went on strike. He joined the Cleveland Indians in 1997 and was later traded to Yankees in 2000.
He said the two “probably could have done it” if they went to therapy.

Justice is married to businesswoman Rebecca Villalobos. The two have three children.
