- Harlan Cobens Lazarus Season 2 has not been ordered at the time of writing
- Coben is open to a second season “if there’s demand” and there’s “a good enough story”
- Star Alexandra Roach “very open” to reprising the role
Don’t get too excited – although all six episodes of Harlan Coben’s Lazarus are now available to stream on Prime Video, there is no official word of a second season.
After the shocking ending of episode 6 (and no spoilers here, don’t worry), I could see how Lazarus could go either way. There are enough questions left that Season 1 is the end of the line, but not so many that it’s impossible to revisit.
Considering that will be the question on everyone’s lips this week, I asked Harlan Coben, his cast and crew for their Season 2 thoughts… and they’re not as negative as you might think.
Harlan Coben is open to Lazarus season 2 if there is ‘demand’ and ‘a good enough story’
Look at
“We think the ending is very satisfying for the story,” says producer Nicola Schindler. “We’ll give all the answers in the final episode. So there shouldn’t be anything you’re waiting to hear.
“They’re great characters and it’s a great setup. If you want more, that’s great, but episodes should work in their own right.”
“We never make a show that aims for season two, and therefore we never make season two,” Coben adds. “If it’s in demand and we come up with a story that’s as good or better, we’ll do it. If not, we’ll happily do a new, original story.”
You only have to look at Netflix’s social media feed to see that Coben is not short of other ideas. An adaptation of the novel Run away will hit the streamer on New Year’s Day 2026, so no matter how it shakes out, Lazarus Season 2 won’t be uppermost in Coben’s mind.
For star Alexandra Roach, the possibility of more episodes is much more hopeful. “I would love to play Jenna again and go back to the fancy house and wear the fancy clothes and pick up the story from where we leave it,” she shares.
“I think it is, it’s so open. And I would love to see Jenna’s reaction to that [the cliffhanger]. I love Harlan and Danny’s writing and the challenge of bringing it to life. I would definitely be open to more.”
