- HBO Mas has just renewed Neighbors for another season
- This comes off the back of a very successful first run
- The current series finale is March 20
HBO Max has just been renewed Neighbors for a second season ahead of the documentary’s March 20 finale.
Neighbors had a hugely successful first run averaging over 2.9 million global viewers across platforms per episodes since debut. I’m so excited for it to come back for more as the A24 documentary series has been a wild ride. I would even consider it one of the best HBO Max shows right now.
We’ve seen Harrison Fishman and Dylan Redford filming for over two years, traveling across the country and immersing themselves in the lives of their neighbors to “capture an unfiltered and intimate portrait of ordinary people and document the fundamental American pursuits of life, liberty and property.”

I didn’t expect to be so invested in it, but here we are and we know more episodes are coming soon.
Speaking about the renewal, Nina Rosenstein, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Late Night & Specials, said in a press release: “Everyone has a neighbor story, and Dylan and Harrison have a knack for finding the ones that make you laugh, cringe and make it impossible to look away.
“At a time when even the smallest disagreements can spiral out of control, Neighbors feels both hilariously absurd and surprisingly relatable. What makes the show special isn’t just the stories and people they find, but the empathy and humanity they bring to each episode. Season 2 can’t come soon enough!”
Why I’m hooked on HBO’s Neighbors
Look at
Being a fly on the wall for these complicated and chaotic disputes has been a blast, and I’ve loved getting to know the different people who appear throughout the show.
Season 1 documents all sorts of issues from a heated debate between beachgoers and private homeowners to an occupation of an 8-foot concrete wall to disagreements over a man raising livestock on his grandmother’s property.
On the surface, it might not sound that interesting. But we’ve all had neighbors we don’t like, or even hatedso despite the absurdity of some of these situations, it’s also deeply relatable. Sometimes you bump into someone and there are things that need to be fixed.
Fishman and Redford place us right in the middle, as if we live on the same street as these people, and it’s impossible to look away. Thanks to Season 2, I’m very glad I won’t have to for a while.
