Messages to HBOs Harry Potter Remake of the TV series has thrown itself faster than Golden Snitch, where Warwick Davis is the latest face to participate in the role crew. But haven’t we seen him somewhere before? Oh yes, as Professor Flitwick in the original Harry Potter film.
The main herd is fully announced as filming begins in London, and Davis is the only recurring actor from the original race. Season 1 will not be with us until a time in 2027, which means that if he is in the whole adaptation, Davis has essentially dropped his suitcases at Hogwarts for another decade of his life. No public declaration has yet been given by the actor, but this is of course a loaded step from the study.
As the first-look on the role crew of the location in their wizard is completely identical to the films, many fans have been left behind and wonder what the point of restarting the franchise is. Now Davis is on board, this argument is now as solid as cement, and I feel that I have lost my mind (as well as wobbling on my HBO Max subscription).
Warwick Davis returns to the Harry Potter series shows HBO doesn’t know what it is doing

Let me just say what we all think: Why? Why is HBO recovery a well-known IP only to bring back former members of role crew? Why has only an actor been brought back and not more? Why does the TV show see shot for shots so far as what we have already seen?
I’m more confused than Ron in McGonagall’s class and I’ve got the feeling that I’m only at the tip of the iceberg of irritation. However, fans generally seem more divisive. By going to X/Twitter, one answered the message: “What is the poenget with this reboot if we bring back actors?” Another disagree: “This makes sense because he is iconic in the role and keeps continuity and authenticity for fans.”
On the one hand, I understand that Davis, who represents his role, means that Flitwick’s portrayal is handled with total grace and sensitivity, but if the TV starts open the door to (mostly) fresh talent, it might have been wise to do it instead of continuity instead. Throwing an unknown actor with dwarfism like Flitwick is definitely as much of a victory for HBO as it is for us (or as you see below, they already have the perfect person for the job).
There is another part of this that bothering me. Flitwick was not the only role that Davis first played, and also assumed the role of Goblin Bank Teller and Griphook, Goblin, who was responsible for Gringotts. Although we do not know who will play the bankers, Leigh Gill has been reworked as a griphook. If you bring Davis back at all, bring him back to all the roles he played.
It is this erratic decision making that is the last stitch in the coffin for me. I couldn’t get on board with Nick Frost’s comments about tackling Hagrid, I couldn’t understand why Sweet Dominic McLaughlin was made in Daniel Radcliffe’s image and I couldn’t find out why some of my favorite actors chose to adapt to such a polarizing and controversial project.
It would be better for all of us if the Harry Potter -Tv show was preserved and some indelible reality -tv -equivalent was made for HBO Max instead, but we’re too far away for it. I do not see how Davis (as brilliant as he is, by the way), can bridge the old and the new world successfully, as it should still be their own separate beings.
If Ralph Finnes ends up being our secret Voldemort, I would really see in Hope Dark Magic Magic wins this time instead.
