Dyson is really, really good at moving around. While the company made its name in vacuum cleaners, it is now almost as well known for its AirCare appliances – it makes some of the best fans and the best air cleaners around, sometimes in an apparatus. In fact, some can also be heated or moistened the air as needed.
Dysons AirCare products can be instantly recognized, where most of them are sporting a smooth, space age design that seems to magic up wind from nowhere. The disadvantage of such an established look is that it can be very difficult to see the difference between the different models in the area. With a wide range of available options, it can be difficult to find out exactly what product is and then which one to buy.
We have put together this guide to help you tell the difference between the different options so you can choose the right one for your needs.
Overview table
This table provides a very basic overview of the full Dyson Aircare interval. Click on the links in the ‘List Prize’ column to jump to the product list on Dyson on each territory. If the currency you are looking for is not listed is worth making a quick Google because the product may still be available to buy through a third -party dealer in this area.
I will mainly have a fan
Great! Most of Dyson’s AirCare devices act as fans, so you have a lot of options to choose from.
If you just If you want a fan, you need Dyson Cool Am07. Because it has only one feature, it is the cheapest option in the whole lineup. You can find out what we thought about it in our Dyson Cool Am07 review.
If you suffer from seasonal allergies, consider a fan-purifier combination. Your most important options here are the TP models that have names that start with ‘Purifier Cool’. The cheapest and most basic option here is Purifier Cool TP10, and the most advanced is Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09. Note that the addition of Formaldehyde remote capabilities to any Dyson product is significantly bumped on the price.
Maybe you need a fan because your home is not very well insulated and you experience large temperature fluctuations between seasons. In this case, you might be considering a fan-cheer combo. This option has the extra advantage of meant that the appliance does not only collect dust during the summer months. The only option here is the hot+cool jet focus Am09. We’ve tested one and you can see how we got ahead in our Dyson Am09 Hot + Cool Review.
Finally, you could walk the whole pig and choose a fan-purifier seat. For this you will have the HP series, with names starting ‘Purifier Hot+Cool’. The options vary by country, but one that is available everywhere is Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10.
I will mainly have an air purifier
Great! Dyson has lots of air cleaner settings. This technique goes hand in hand with what the brand needs for its vacuum cleaners so it knows what it does when it comes to catching particles.
If you just want air cleaning, check out Purifier Big+Quiet formaldehyde models. There are two slightly different versions: BP04 and BP03, of which 04 is slightly higher spec. These are voluminous and expensive and designed to tackle large areas (up to 100 m²) quiet. The purification capacities are about the best you find everywhere, and extend to include nasties that most air purifiers cannot handle, such as NO2 and Formaldehyde. You can read our thoughts on this interval in our Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet formaldehyde review.
If you just want a cleaner to your bedroom or living room and prefer something smaller and cheaper, we will suggest a cleansing fan. See in the TP series, with products starting ‘Purifier Cool’.
The most affordable, simplest model is the first re-cleaning cool TP10. It still has excellent cleansing features, but it can’t handle everything Big+Quiet settings can. Alternatively, choose the cleansing cool formaldehyde TP09, which is more advanced.
Finally, you can go for a triple action model. The Purifier-Heater fan options have names starting ‘Purifier Hot+Cool’ and codes beginning HP, and the most accessible option is Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10. Alternatively, there are a few options that swap warming for wetting – in the United States it is PH03, and in the UK it’s PH04.
I will mainly have a heater
There are no independent heaters in Dyson’s reach, but it is included as a bonus feature with a number of the brand’s aircare appliances.
The simplest and most affordable model is Dyson Hot+Cool Jet Focus AM09, which acts as a fan or as a heater, depending on your needs. Otherwise, choose a three-in-one ‘Purifier Hot+Cool’ with a code name starting HP. All of these can heat, cool or clean air. The most available is Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10. We’ve tested HP09 and you can read about how we got on with it in our Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Formaldehyde HP09 Review.
I will mainly have a humidifier
Dyson is not so focused on humidifiers, but again it is included as an added feature of some Combo-Air-Fugter-Purifier models. However, you are very limited in choice. In the US you have Purifier Wugfit+Cool PH03, and in the UK it’s Purifier Wugfit+Cool Formaldehyde PH04.
