Team Cherry has revealed that Hollow Knight: Silksong Players at Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to download an upgrade package to unlock “improved features”.
It is, according to a new post on the studio’s Kickstarter, where Team Cherry said that backers who supported the project will receive their original Nintendo Switch key directly via E email after completing a survey, adding that those who play on Switch 2 need to download an additional upgrade package from ESHOP to access the improvements (via eurogams).
“For Nintendo Switch 2 players after you have redemption of your Nintendo Switch -Key and Download of the Game, you also need to download (free) Hollow Knight: Silksong Upgrade package from ESHOP to unlock the improved features of the platform, “Team Cherry explained.
It is not officially confirmed, but this suggests that if you buy the game on Switch 2, there will be no need to download a separate package and it will be available to all players, even if they did not support the project on Kickstarter.
Right yesterday Team Cherry announced that the long -awaited Silk song will cost only $ 19.99 (approximately £ 19.99) and even parts specific release times.
The game is officially launched on September 4, 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, Asus Rog Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X.
Team Cherry has also released a full-length gameplay trailer that shows brand new features, such as a craft system, a look at new locations and enemies and tease over 40 legendary Boss meetings.
