Flagship smartphones become more homogeneous with each year that goes, but Honer’s latest special edition unit, Porsche Design Honor Magic 7 RSR, stands out as a neon-colored sports car in a public library parking space.
The third collaboration between Honor and the German Design Study after last year’s Magic 6 RSR and the foldable Magic V2 RSR, Magic 7 RSR is essentially a soup-up version of Honor Magic 7 Pro, which we described in our review as “one Excellent phone that impresses in almost every area. “
Not satisfied to rest on his laurels, Honor has worked with Porsche Design to sport the design of the Magic 7 Pro, but it is also thrown into some important spec -upgrades to justify RSR’s £ 1,549 (approximately $ 1,950 / AU $ 3,050 ) Price Marking – One of which blows iPhone 16 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and several of the best phones out of the water.
On the aesthetic front, the Magic 7 RSR has an elegant design that is of course inspired by Porsche Cars, specifically Taycan Turbo S. The phone’s distinctive hexagonal camera module is similar to Porsche’s iconic headlight design, and a streamlined tip line gets RSR look as it is built for a wind tunnel. .

As for colors, Magic 7 RSR is available in Agate Gray and Provence, and we were sent the second of these two shades to the unboxing video above.
Away from the phone’s design, the Honor Magic 7 RSR is improved on the Standard Magic 7 Pro by offering a massive 24 GB of RAM (yes, 24 GB of RAM) and 1 TB of storage space. For context, it’s twice as much as RAM you find in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and equals the maximum storage capacity available for both Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
In fact, if you were to combine the respective RAM capacity of the Galaxy S25 Ultra (12 GB) and iPhone 16 Pro Max (8GB), Magic 7 RSR would still offer 4 GB more. Admittedly, there are almost no smartphone tasks that require 24 GB of RAM (here is an explanation of what RAM is used for in smartphones), but Kudos to honor for future-proofing Magic 7 RSR to such an absurd degree.
The Chinese mobile manufacturer has also increased the Magic 7 RSR’s camera system. Compared to its standard siblings, the new phone gets a larger telecommunications aperture – as Honor says is the largest in the entire smartphone industry – and an upgraded Lidar Matrix Autofocus system for improved focus accuracy and tracking area.
The brand also says that RSR contains “additional double electromagnetic focus actuators for precision”, which sounds like something out of a James Bond movie.
All of which is told Porsche Design Honor Magic 7 RSR is an absolute beast of a smartphone. Of course, it’s expensive, but no more than the 1TB version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and it’s actually cheaper than the 1TB version of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, despite offering significantly more RAM. The heck, by the metric, it is basically a bargain!
The Honor Magic 7 RSR is available now In the UK and Europe.
