Watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix live streams as the 2025 Formula 1 season comes down to the most exciting finale. Lando Norris leads Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by just 12 points and his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri by 16 with the drivers’ championship perfectly set up for a three-way battle in the final race weekend of the season. Motorsport doesn’t get any better than this.
Any podium finish will be enough for Norris to claim his first title, while defending champion Verstappen will win a fifth straight championship if he takes the checkered flag and Norris is fourth or worst. Piastri is the outsider and will need misfortune to strike at least one of his title rivals.
Mercedes’ George Russell is fourth, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc fifth and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso sixth. Lewis Hamilton was knocked down in the first round of qualifying for a third consecutive grand prix, saying he felt an “unbearable amount of anger and rage”.
Norris should have arguably finished this weeks ago but has struggled to get over the line. In Qatar last weekend, McLaren tried to get the Briton over Piastri, denying the latter victory at the expense of Verstappen’s victory.
However, the Dutchman has been nothing short of extraordinary, picking up 213 points from a possible 257 over the past nine Grands Prix to put pressure on the McLaren rookies.
“Incredibly happy to be first,” Verstappen said after Saturday’s qualifying. “That’s the only thing we can do – try to maximize everything with the car.”
Will the team’s tactics take effect? If Verstappen is leading and Norris is behind Piastri, needing a place to take the title, don’t bet against it…
