Lord of the Fliesbased on the novel by William Golding, is now a four-part BBC series with a cast of more than 30 boys, with Winston Sawyers as Ralph, David McKenna as Piggy and Lox Pratt as Jack. Similar to the book, the 2026 TV show Lord of the Flies explores the themes of civilization versus savagery, loss of innocence, and hunger for power.
The story revolves around survival where a plane crashes on a remote island and a group of schoolboys have to survive without any adults around. At first everything seems to be going well and the group is civilly led by Ralph and Piggy.
However, Jack’s hunger for power disrupts the newfound peace. He forms his own tribe and sows fear in the name of a mysterious ‘beast’. The group gradually turns violent, throwing rational thinking out the window. What follows is absolute savagery and tragedy.
Written by Jack Thorne (Adolescence), the music for Lord of the Flies is composed by Hans Zimmer, Cristobal Tapia de Veer and Kara Talve – some of the biggest names in storytelling and music composition.
With a young cast and experienced writers, Lord of the Flies promises to be a gripping and thought-provoking tale of survival and power. Here’s where you can watch Lord of the Flies from online and on TV.
