- Huawei Mate XT 2 could land on September 10
- It’s the same week we expect iPhone
- The first Huawei Tri-Fold was launched last year
The groundbreaking, triple folded Huawei Mate XT, launched by 2024, will have a successor later in the year and the latest rumor suggests that the premium device will be revealed around the same time as the Apple iPhone 17 Series.
This information comes from the well-known Tipster Fixed Focus Digital on the Chinese Social Social Media Platform Weibo (via Android headlines), which says we can expect to see Huawei Mate XT 2, which was announced on Wednesday, September 10.
If you’ve kept pace with the flurry of the iPhone 17 rumors in recent weeks, you know they are pointing on Tuesday, September 9 as the big day of the big reveal of Apple’s next flagship phones.
The usual iPhone upgrades are in pipeline – a faster processor, better cameras and so on – but there is no doubt that it is Huawei who will reveal the most innovative and exciting handset that week if these rumors turn out to be accurate.
When do we get a foldable iPhone?
Apple has always taken a rather slow and steady approach to smartphone innovation, which helps explain why Huawei is now on his second tri-fold phone, and Samsung is on its seventh round with foldable, while Apple has not yet suggested a foldable iPhone is coming.
The latest information we have suggest that Apple is finally launching a folded iPhone in September 2026 with the iPhone 18 line. Then we may be treated with a new model every 12 months as Apple becomes more familiar with the manufacturing process.
Rumors show that Apple has worked hard to minimize the curl on its folding iPhone, and we expect it to cost a good bit too. Other leaks suggest that it does not claim the title of the thinnest collapsible phone when it appears.
A collapsible iPhone has been a long time and we look forward to seeing it, but Apple has a lot of catching up to do at this point, with Samsung expected to launch his own Tri-Fold phone at some point in October.
