It is Peacemaker Season 2 final week. That’s right, the eighth and last episode of the popular HBO Max TV show will be released later this week, so we bid farewell with the titular anti-hero and 11th Street Kids again in the near future.
With Peacemaker Season 2’s last episode, which should be the longest of the party – it bells in 57 minutes – there is a lot that can happen. Here are four predictions I have for this episode, entitled ‘The Full Nelson’ ahead of its air date.
1. Someone important will die
This can be an obvious prediction to come with. Given DC Studios Co-Ceo James Gunn’s penchant for killing grades in previous projects, DC Universe (DCU) or otherwise, it is safe to assume that someone may not be long after this world.
So who’s ready for the chopping block? Everyone is fair game for me. But if Gunn wants Peacemaker‘s season 2 final, which is as emotionally devastating as possible, three candidates stand out more than most.
Of this trio, Chris Smith/Peacemaker would be the most heartbreaking.
For a character, if all life is defined by tragedy, it would be a welcome change if he earned some kind of happy ending in the DCU Chapter One Second Season. Likewise, it would be bittersweet if Smith, who wants to be considered an actual hero, not a joke, of Metahuman’s and the general population, sacrificed his life to save his friends and/or the world himself.
The next most likely candidate is Emilia Harcourt. Like Smith, she has not had many heroic moments to talk about. When you see Harcourt going out in a glory of glory, it would then create a similar tearful moment. It would also make the romantic moment that happened between her and Smith between seasons (which Gunn has confirmed that we will finally see in a flashback in ‘The Full Nelson’) an even harder watch.
That said, it would be nice if, like Smith, something positive happened to Harcourt. Whether it’s her and Smith who finally come together, Harcourt gets her job back on Argus or joins a new spy -based agency (more on this later), it’s high time the sun shone on her.
If the aforementioned duo lives to fight another day, Adrian Chase/Vigilante would probably be the next most heartbreaking.
An incredibly popular character that has been under used in Season 2, his death would not only be a dagger in our collective hearts, but also make Smith realize how much he took vigilante for granted. Given that Smith has treated enough trauma in his life, killing by his male bestie may not be the narrative movement to do.
2. there will be a big commo
Again, this can be a light guess to do. If Peacemaker is just as crucial to DCU’s long-term future as Gunn has suggested, but it would be a possibility of the opportunity if its Season 2 final bypassed us with a guest’s performance.
Who could show up then? With Lex Luthor who made a crowd-pleasant como in season 2 section 6, it is not a stretch to assume that Superman could show up. I think this is a clear option when you consider Gunn’s next DCU project will be MARTRA manalias the successor to this year Superman film. The fact that the latter film and Peace Sacer 2 were shot around the same time at nearby sound stages adds additional weight to this theory.
There are other candidates as well. Rumors are teeming that Blue Beetle may appear in a certain capacity and with a June 2025 report from the deadline indicating that a Blue beetle Animated series are in the works of DC Studios, a como from Jaime Reyes is not out of the question. As work reportedly ramps the DCUs up Boosting gold TV show and in the midst of speculation that Kumail Nanjiani has secretly been hired for the titular role of production, the same could also be the case here.
And whispering quietly, what about a como from Robert Pattinson’s Batman? I assumed about this in my Peacemaker Season 2 final trailer fan theory piece last week, and although I admit it is incredibly unlikely, it would be amazing if a form of crossover between Batman The universe and DCU happened.
3. We learn what Peacemaker’s TV — Sepering is called
Another theory I discussed in my season 2 section 8 teaser piece that I linked to in the above paragraph, this prediction is based on comments that Gunn has made about Peacemaker‘s future.
Discussing the prospect of one of the best HBO MAX -Shows getting a third season, Gunn said Peacemaker Season 2 probably won’t get a successor. However, he added that this was not the last thing we see of the series’ eclectic herd of characters and said, “Some of these characters will continue. But that is not exactly Peacemaker 3. I don’t exclude it. You will see (episode) 8, and maybe you will find out a little more. “
To me it sounds like a new DCU -TV series will be spun out of Peacemaker. Will it be a live-action take on ‘checkmate’, a DC cartoon series that has shown individuals who have appeared in PeacemakerIncluding the titular character, Vigilante, Amanda Waller, Sasha Bordeaux and Maxwell Lord, among its list? Could it be an Argus-based program in the direction of Marvel’s Agents of shield? Or will be a completely left field thing? I hope we find out in the coming days.
4. It will create the plot for tomorrow
I touched this past in the past but Peacemaker 2 It seems that it will act as a leaping point for MARTRA man‘s story.
Some narrative breadcrumbs are laid by Luthor’s como in this season’s sixth episode. Depending on how ‘the full Nelson’ ends, with a possible como from the SUPES self and/or even a teaser of Superman 2‘s primary villain, ribbons between the two projects could be further strengthened.
Now I will be very surprised if we learn something important about the story of Gunn’s next DCU project in Peacemaker Season 2’s finale. After all, while we don’t know when Gunn started writing MARTRA man‘s manuscript, movie shoot wrapped Superman and Peacemaker 2 in July and November 2024 respectively. If Gunn did not start working on his Superman Subsequent script till the start of this year, ‘the full Nelson’ does not establish actively MARTRA man‘s actual story.
Nevertheless I expect it to the fullest something tease at a time before Peacemaker Season 2 section 8 ends. Meanwhile, read all we know so far MARTRA man.
What do you think will happen in ‘The Full Nelson’? Do you agree with any of my predictions or do you have some of your own? Tell me that in the comments.
