- First images of the rumored hazel blade x2d 100c II surface
- Leaked specifications suggest a new Lidar -Autophocus system on board
- FCC application reveals additional details including refined checks
If money was no object, the amazing hazel blade x2d 100c would probably be my first choice of camera for photography. The minimalist 100MP medium format camera’s appearance, handling and image quality are top drawer.
However, it is far from the perfect camera. I don’t mind that it’s just a photography camera (that’s right, no video recording features at all). But what ruined my experience something was its sluggish autofocus performance during testing – a disadvantage that could be addressed with its rumored future successor.
Mirrorless Rumors has marked an FCC application for a Hasselblad X2D 100C II, which contains not only the first proper images of the second general model, but also outlines different new features. Among these is Lidar Autofocus.
Should an upcoming Hasselblad X2D 100C II get Lidar autofocus, it would represent the first meaningful update with the permission of DJI since the Chinese-Tech giant and leading drone producer acquired Hasselblad, and it could not have picked up a better upgrade.
To get up on speed
I love the X2D 100C II’s image quality, so much so that it puts my full-frame nikon camera in the shade. Unlike my humble Z6 II, I couldn’t trust its autofocus for sharp focus where it would have it, such as a person’s eyes in a portrait.
Yes, improved Autofocus tops my X2D 100C II upgrade of the wish list, and the promise of expensive Lidar Autofocus used by DJI’s Ronin 4D and will probably deliver a huge boost in autofocus performance, is exciting news.
Elsewhere, the new images reveal a new joystick control and refined button layout, while internal SSD storage could again be up to 1 TB along with a CFExpress B card castle.
Otherwise, I do not expect many other meaningful improvements, not so many were needed-X2D 100C II will apparently have the same or similar 100MP sensor with class-leading 8EV I-BROPPHILL STABILIZATION, 16-bit color depth and 15-stop dynamic range, for probably the best photo quality you can get on the assigned page of $ 10k / £ 10k.
Depending on how you look at it, the rumor X2D 100C II is a minor update of the X2D 100c. But for me it seems to fulfill my “if I had a wish”. How does the rumor X2D 100C II sound to you? Tell me that in the comments below.
