Robot Vacuum Mopping Tech is becoming increasingly advanced, but DREAMES new bot has a particularly comprehensive Mopping setup. Matrix10 Ultra comes with a whole range of cleaning sets and cherry picks the right tools for the specific task available.
I had a chance to check it out in person yesterday and I am equal parts impressed and frightened. As far as I know, it is the only robot wacuum that offers this kind of setup, and in a market filled with copycat bots, it is unusual. If you have plenty of hard floor and need something that can offer custom cleaning, this may be the best robot wacuum for you.
First up there are three different mop pad settings. This bot uses the popular dual spin -style setup, but the pillows themselves are designed to fit different scenarios.
There is a cushion with RU nylon brush strips among the softer loops, designed to tackle fat or heavy spots. For example, this would be suitable for cleaning the kitchen. There is also a pillow with a fungal layer inside to increase absorption. This one is a good choice for bathrooms where there may be excess water to mop away.
Finally, there is the default setting that Dream says has a kind of thermal properties that allow it to “maintain a consistent temperature for improved cleaning”. I’m not quite sure what it means why I quote the press release on you.
A number of Dreames Robot Vacuum has magnetic pillows that can be picked up for moping, and then dropped off in the dock when they are not needed, so you don’t have to worry about moist cushions coming into contact with your blankets. Matrix10 Ultra uses the same setup, but the mechanism with which it swaps its MOPs is especially cool.
The pairs of pillows are stacked up against the inside of the door of the dock. A kind of mop car, on a roller track, picks up the right cushions, then rushes down a ramp, slides into the room where the bot will dock, and falls off the cushions in the base, ready to attach to the underside of the robot wacuum.
Scrub solutions
Multiple pillows are not the extent of Matrix10’s mop tricks. It also comes with three different floor cleaning solutions for different kinds of root: a general plus one specialist for pet odor and another for hardwood floors.
Again, you can specify the solution to use in each room. The solutions are all in the dock and can access via a side door. However, I was not able to look for because the bot apparently has to be charged to access this space (odd) and the display model was not.
The lightweight downside to having a whole tool room worth of cleaning sets in a Robovac dock is that Said Dock ends up being pretty voluminous, but that’s how things seem to go to modern robot vacuum. If you have a home with lots of hard floors and need something to tackle different kinds of root-or just prefer to keep things ultra-hygienic by keeping your bathroom cleaning set completely separated from your kitchen cleaning set Matrix10 Ultra out as a nice solution.
