I am not considered worthy of being informed about Hajj Matters: Prime Minister

Prime Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Kesoo Mal Kheal Das revealed in the National Assembly on Friday that he got no briefing on Hajj-related questions by his ministry and shocked the legislators during the questioning time.

That prompted Vice President Ghulam Mustafa Shah to seek an explanation by Monday, ordering the minister to formally ask why he was not informed.

Kheal Das, who belongs to the Hindu society, expressed his disappointment over the assembly and said that the Ministry of Religious Affairs did not consider him “worthy” to be informed of the Hajj operation.

“I apologize for not answering questions related to Hajj and the ministry,” the prime minister said, assuring the public that he would fulfill his responsibility for tackling their concerns.

Deputy, Shah speaks Shah reprimanded the Secretary of Religious Affairs of not taking Parliament seriously and ordered the Minister to get detailed information from his service. “As a prime minister, you are responsible for answering questions related to your service,” SHAH said, instructing Kheal Das to ask the ministry in writing why he was not informed.

Deputy speeches warned of strict action against the secretary and other officials whether no satisfactory reaction was given by Monday, adding that formal instructions would also be issued from the National Assembly Secretariat to ensure compliance.

The offer apology for not being able to answer questions, Kheal Das said he already conveyed to his ministry officials, that he had been given the portfolio of prime minister for religious affairs of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and said he was fully responsible for answering all the questions asked in parliament.

During his interaction with the vice president, Kheal Das revealed that Minister of Religious Affairs and Interreligious Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf had gone to perform Umrah.
