- Backbone One: The Xbox edition has been revealed
- It’s a special variant backbone a 2. Gen mobile controller with an Xbox-inspired design
- It costs $ 109.99 and will be available via the Backbone Websted and Best Buy Drops
Gaming Peripheral Maker Backbone has announced a new special edition variant of his Backbone One 2. Gen Mobile Controller.
Backbone One: Xbox Edition is, as the name suggests, part of the brand’s partnership with Xbox. It is separated by its strikingly translucent green shell, which gives you a glimpse of the inner black PCB plates that seem particularly reminiscent of the nostalgic crystal green version of the original Xbox.
The controller’s screenshot button has also been replaced with a new Xbox button, decorated with the brand’s logo. It’s generally a pretty striking design, but honestly, I would have preferred something with a few more changes. Adding the iconic blue, yellow, red and green button colors from Xbox Wireless Controller would certainly have improved the look and really helped sell that Xbox element.
Backbone One is nonetheless an excellent fit for not only native mobile games in titles like Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile or Zenless Zone ZeroBut also Xbox Cloud Gaming as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. I have held out for the long rumored Xbox-handheld console, but this could very much fill that niche for me, especially considering its relatively modest $ 109.99 price.
However, the controller can be a little difficult to get your hands on as it will only be available via the Backbone Web site and Best Buy Drops (part of Best Buy Mobile App).
